Trainspotting? I prefer Wifespotting

Ewan McGregor believes in love at first sight. The 25-year-old movie hunk confesses he's been crazy for wife Eve Mavrakis, above, from the moment he met her on the set of legal drama Kavanagh QC, where Eve was working as a designer. They married last year. "The second I saw her, I thought, 'If I can be with her, it will be like nothing I've ever had before,'" says Ewan twiddling his wedding ring. "She's beautiful my wife, so beautiful."
As well as being a loving husband, the star of cult films Trainspotting and Shallow Grave is now a doting dad too. Eve gave birth to their daughter Clara in February. Ewan considers having children to be "the most amazing thing in the world. I think the reason men have oppressed women for so long is because we know there's nothing that can compare to giving birth. I mean, you've played your part in the first place - very quickly in my case! But we can't give birth so we struggle to make ourselves better in other respects, as we know were not that useful!" he chuckles.
Coming from a "wonderful, safe, secure" background himself, Ewan firmly believes that marriage is forever.
"The union of two people is such a complex thing. It's either a good match or it's not," he muses. "I completely believe I will be with my wife forever - we'll go through everything together - otherwise I wouldn't be married. But you have to be prepared to work at it. People are so quick to say, 'We haven't smiled at each other in a week - I'm off.'"
Not only does Ewan's marriage seem rock solid, his career seems to be on the up and up, too. Many fans will remember him best as junkie Renton in Trainspotting. His latest movie is Brassed Off, which stars Tara Fitzgerald and tells the tale of a Yorkshire brass band against the backdrop of pit closures. But he says he is constantly aware of how lucky he is and claims to be apprehensive about life in general.
That aside, Ewan himself is lovely company - easy-going but compelling, largely due to his gorgeous, hypnotic eyes. He seems very together and down-to-earth, but how would he describe himself? "One minute I can be calm, serene and very content then three minutes later, I can be on edge, paranoid and worried!" he admits.
